As long as there are no broken bones in your ankle, you should be able to get the ankle back to normal in two or three days.
If you can, ice the ankle for the first 24 hours or if ice is unavailable keep it as cool as possible – this will help reduce swelling. Additionally, keep the foot elevated while getting more rest than normal since both of these actions will expedite healing.
